Yumika Tanaka is a digital media artist and designer based in Silicon Valley. Yumika is a native of japan, where she was raised until the age of nineteen. Then she moved to the United States where she has lived ever since.
Recently she received her MFA in Digital Media from CADRE Laboratory for
New Media at San Jose State University, which gave her the opportunity to develop a wide range of digital media works.
Her recent works have focused on designing and developing wearable electronics to connect the human body and technologies through pieces that integrate fashion and technology. Some prototypes have been shown through various venues in the Bay Area, including Triton Museum of Art, San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles, and San Francisco Performance Art Institute,
as well as ZERO1 Biennales.
